KAREL MITÁŠ studied at the National Conservatory in Brno ( Czech republic ) violin and orchestral conducting in 1991-1995. He further studied violin at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg ( Germany ) in 1995 – 2001. He conducted numerous music companies and orchestras in the south Baden region in 1995-2003. After a short co-operation with Bielefeld Philharmony in 2003 he accepted an engagement as the first violinist in the Janáček Opera Orchestra of the National Theatre Brno in October 2003. He has been the soloist of the same orchestra since January 2006. On the turn of the years 2007 and 2008 he founded and leads until now the symphonic orchestra Virtuosi Brunenses which is known and successful mainly west of the borders of the Czech republic. Since September 2008 until October 2011 he studied at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno orchestral conductorship, under Jan Zbavitel. He conducted already during his studies music companies as for example Czech Virtuosi or Moravská filharmonie Olomouc. Since 1998 he starred as soloist during foreign tours for example in Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Ukradne, Denmark, Finland, Japan and other countries.
